What documents do I need to present?IAPS is an international school for adults, welcoming students from all over the world. Over 150 nationalities are represented at the Institute. For nationals of countries outside the European Union, certain conditions are required by the Wallonia-Brussels Federation. These are as follows
Residence permit issued by a Belgian local authority
The validity date of the residence permit must cover the date of the 1st/10th of the course.
Please note:
If the validity date falls on September 30 or October 31, see the conditions under “Residence permit limited to the duration of studies”.
If the validity date falls on September 30 or October 31, but the person’s stay is not limited to studies, they must present proof of their status (e.g. employment contract, family reunion with a person whose residence permit is limited to studies, marriage contract, etc.).
Residence permit limited to duration of studies (09/30 or 10/31 of current year)
The validity date of the residence permit must cover the date of the 1st/10th of the course.
Proof of enrolment at a university, college or adult education institution for the current academic year is required.
Identity card E, F (+)
The validity date of the ID card must cover the date of the 1st/10th of the course.
Special, diplomatic or consular identity card
This identity card must be issued by the Belgian authorities.
The validity date of the ID card must cover the date of the 1st/10th of the course.
Certificate of registration (orange card)
Issued by a Belgian public authority.
The validity date of the registration certificate must cover the date of the 1st/10th of the training course.
Passport
Passport + nationality of a third country whose nationals are exempt from visa requirements for crossing external borders.
The validity date of the passport must cover the date of the 1st/10th of the course.
Please note: people registering with this type of document will have to pay the specific registration fee (must be foreign) in addition to the registration fee.
Diplomatic or special passport
The validity date of the passport must cover the date of the 1st/10th of the course.

Passport + visa
The validity date of the passport must cover the date of the 1st/10th of the course.

Passport + Annex 3 "Declaration of arrival
The validity date of the passport must cover the date of the 1st/10th of the course.

Passport + Annex 15
The validity date of annex 15 must cover the date of the 1st/10th of the course.
Passport + Annex 15 bis
The date of issue of annex 15 bis plus 5 months must cover the date of the 1st/10th of the training course.
Passport + Annex 19 (or Annex 19ter)
The date of “production of documents” or the date of “presentation to the local authority” referred to in Annex 19 (or Annex 19ter) must cover the date of the 1st/10th of the course.
Passport + annex 35
The validity date of annex 35 must cover the date of the 1st/10th of the course.
Residence permit issued by a European Union country other than Belgium
The validity date of the passport must cover the date of the 1st/10th of the course.

UN certificate recognizing refugee status
The UN Certificate must be issued during the academic year of training.
Annex 3, which mentions article 9bis of the Law of 15/12/1980
Annex 3 must state that “the application has been submitted” no more than 1 year before the 1st/10th date of the course.
If the application was submitted more than one year before the date of the 1st/10th of the course, the Annex must be accompanied by a lawyer’s letter issued during the academic year of the course. This letter must state that “the request was made under article 9bis of the law of December 15, 1980” and specify that the procedure is still in progress.
Lawyer's letter
The lawyer’s letter must be issued during the academic year of training.

- appeal against the decision of the Office des Etrangers and certify that the procedure is still underway.

Specific registration fee (DIS)
In certain cases onlyIn certain cases only, non-European foreign students must pay a specific registration fee (DIS) in addition to the basic registration fee (DI). This fee is calculated according to the number of periods in the course. For a 120-period course (2 mornings or 2 evenings per week for one semester), the fee is €90 extra. For two 120-period courses (4 mornings a week during a semester), it’s an additional 180€, … with a maximum ceiling of 238€ per school year.
