Japanese A1

Course description: This beginner’s course is recommended for people who want to experience and fully immerse themselves in everyday Japanese, communicating in basic Japanese after a year of study.

At the end of this year you will be able to :

  • understand and use everyday expressions and simple phrases in common use;
  • introduce yourself, ask and answer personal questions (where you’re from, what you do for a living, etc.);
  • use vocabulary and expressions related to food and drink, Japanese homes, transport and travel (destinations, cities, shopping, leisure activities, for example).

My aim is to enable you to have simple conversations if your interlocutor speaks slowly and clearly.
To achieve this, in the beginners’ class, it is of course necessary to study regularly and practice speaking a lot at home and in class.
Practicing hiragana, katakana and kanji (Chinese characters) will enable you to read and understand signs (train stations, subways) and advertisements (stores) during a visit to Japan.
Everyday speaking and reading will be possible at the end of this course!

Method: group lessons. Learning with the teacher and mutual learning between students, which boosts motivation.

Japanese A2

Course description: Level 2 class uses the second book in the “Marugoto” textbook series, Elementary 1 (A2). There is no roomaji in this manual. Everything is written in kana (hiragana and katakana) and kanji.

In Japanese, you’ll be able to talk in more detail about yourself (work, family, hobbies, the city you live in, culture), something you were already able to express in the beginner’s course, but with more nuance.

In addition, we will learn a whole series of expressions: those needed to meet other people or organize activities: going out, having a picnic, …

The use of verbs will become more refined: we can build on the “masu” form of verbs learned at beginner level, but also by learning the “te” and “neutre” forms at level 2.

If you’ve been to Japan, you can share these memories with your classmates, and if you’re thinking of going to Japan, you can prepare to go with us.

Above all, have fun learning Japanese with us.

Method: group lessons. Learning with the teacher and mutual learning between students, which boosts motivation.
